I have been a “photographer’s widow” in the past as Rusty has been chasing the Moon all over Greater Boston and west of Boston, capturing some awesome shots. Two of my favorite shots were of the moon clinging to the Boston skyscrapers and then a moon looking like a lit-up church clock in Concord. But, I selected this shot of two women sitting by the Charles River waiting for the moonrise for our poster because it speaks to the power of anticipation-- what we choose to seek out and wait for.
Like these two women, there are lots of Moon watchers out in the summer. Summer is a grand time to be outside and go to a concert under the stars, which I will be doing next week, or worshipping the sun by lying at the beach or painting sun-lit flowers, which I also hope to luxuriate in next week. I am psyched about all three of these adventures!
Having something to look forward to ranks as a key secret to happiness. Labor Day—that ominous marker of “back to school” time is rapidly approaching. What calls to you the most right now? It is time to tear yourself away from your desk/house, and chase after something—people, places, experiences, solitude, creativity—that you love, and make a plan to do it. Enjoy the before and after, as well as the moment! Do tell us what you decide to create for yourselves and enjoy!
